Amanda Collie

I work in the Ottawa Film/Television Industry within Costume/Wardrobe Department. I’ve been sewing, designing fashionable clothes for all shapes and sizes and improving my sewing techniques for many years . I’m happy to be using my skill set in the industry. I graduated Fashion Design and Techniques at George Brown College in Toronto. I have also taken workshops with The Canadian Alliance of Film & Television - CAFTCAD in Toronto. . Including Special Effects Costuming, Costume Breakdown: The Art of Destruction, Introduction to Commercial Styling and Costume 101 for Film and Television. I am a member of CAFTCAD. I am also a Member of IATSE LOCAL 634 I reside in Ottawa, Ontario.

Film/TV Industry Experience

I work in the Film/TV industry with very talented crew in Ottawa, Ontario. Working as part of a Wardrobe team allowed me to gain valuable knowledge and work experience in every aspect of the Costume /Wardrobe Department. I started as Wardrobe daily but now work as Seamstress, Stitcher, Truck supervisor, Assistant Costumer Designer, Costume Designer and everything in between.

My start was in Sir Wilfrid Lauier Secondary School Productions for costumes. I was Head of Costumes/Designer for my last 2 years. I led my team to create over 100 costumes from my designs. We were nominated for Cappie Award for Ottawa for Once Upon A Mattress and My Fair Lady. We won Best Costumes for Ottawa Secondary School for My Fair Lady Production in 2014.
